189-191 High St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 1HE, UK – 0345 740 4404

Busy little branch but lovely staff who are more than happy to assist with any esquires. I can not fault the team on their efforts to assist clients of the bank, especially having witnessed an elderly couple in front of me in the queue that were given support that went above an beyond what one would expect in a local bank, with regards to the comfort of the couple as some paperwork was clearly needed they were taken to sit down and ensure they were not rushed.

Nice practice. But gets busy, appts often late unless you go early

Bupa Kelvin Lodge Dental Centre

77 Elmfield Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 4BY, UK – 0191 285 1150

Outstanding customer care and results are the reasons I can unreservedly recommend Kelvin Lodge. After making the decision to improve my smile with braces, I made appointments with various practices and felt after meeting with Dr James Bough that I had found a lovely establishment with plenty of friendly staff and a dental professional who would make every effort to create the smile I wanted. In addition to the skill and knowledge of Dr Bough, I felt at ease during every visit due to the friendly manner of dental nurse Nicole Assimacopoulos and the welcoming reception staff. Although clearly a busy practice, there was always someone available to answer the phone if I needed to call and to assist me when I arrived. Whilst location isn’t the primary reason to choose a practice, it was enjoyable to visit such a lovely house in its well-kept grounds. I opted for tooth coloured fixed braces for both the upper and lower arch and my treatment lasted a total of around five months. During this time, only one bracket came loose and after a panicked call to the emergency number, Dr Bough called me straight back and put my mind at ease with information about what to expect and offered to make an emergency next day appointment to reattach the bracket. A lot of my friends have asked me about braces and my experiences and I would say that for me, the best part of completing the 6 Month Smile is that I no longer have to worry about the angle of a camera or think about how to smile so that my teeth are hidden. My friends always question the same thing: the price. It’s one of those ‘big expenditures’ in life and whilst not as restrictive as buying a car or saving for a deposit on a house, it’s certainly a big commitment. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my treatment plan included professional whitening and the filling of some chipped teeth at the extremely reasonable quote I’d been given which was a welcome bonus. It’s my belief that if more people knew they were paying for ‘a perfect smile’ with all the extras that’s needed to make that happen as opposed to ‘a brace’ then it would be easier to see why the expenditure is worthwhile. And it really is worthwhile. My smile has gone from being the thing I hid to being the first thing people compliment me on and I now look forward to smiling in photographs.

Perfect Smile- Acorn Dental Surgery

67 High St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 4AA, UK – 0191 213 2001

Ian Chandler is a very good dentist. He is very friendly and good at putting one at ease. He is very thorough and explains everything he is doing before he does it. His nurse Lois is very kind and friendly. The receptionists are polite, friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this practice.

I was quite nervous about attending my appointment, as haven't been to a dentist in a number of years. It was very easy to register and book online, and the reception/dental nurses were friendly. The dentist I saw, Ian, was lovely - he explained a few things very clearly and helpfully. Only wish I had registered sooner.

The Park Medical Group

I find the reception staff rather lovely usually, Ali especially seems positive and a few others. You get seen rather promptly in comparison to most surgeries also usually can get an appointment in a week or before if lucky. I find the nursing staff nice too, nurse Pallas was fab for smears. Regarding the staff I've had one or two issues with a few, I think just clashes in personality and bedside manner styles I suppose, we all have sort of people we click with more I guess, but nothing horrific! I'd personally recommend Dr Williams, Dr. Usman, I think it's.Dr. Charlewood but I may be wrong on the name there. I find these gps rather sympathetic and suit me personally, I like their attitudes. I may have missed a few out there sorry. It is a generally good practice and I'm happy I changed from my old one.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill Restaurant

West Ave, Newcastle upon Tyne, Gosforth NE3 4ES, UK – 0191 255 9320

Wow! What an incredible restaurant! Set in an old converted church, it is absolutely beautiful inside! With a mezzanine floor that looks across to a huge church window, it is beautifully lit and an incredibly romantic setting. Shelves of wine bottles line the walls - you just cannot help but be awestruck by this building. The food is absolutely delicious, if you love seafood and fish then this is the place to go. Fantastic variety as well as quality. Great service too - can't wait to go back.

Great seafood by chefs who understand fish. Excellent flavours and presentation. Staff very friendly and understand the menu. Place can be a little cold in winter

Pizza Express

92 Osborne Rd, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 2TD, UK – 0191 281 4767

Good staff.tasty food, a bit expensive hence the 4 🌟.

I'm sure the pizzas at Pizza Express were amazing a few years ago - these days they could be out of a packet. The toppings are sparse and the flavour isn't that great. The superfood salad was all dressing and the extra anchovies didn't make a difference. The staff make this place though, they're the best part of the meal, shame it wasn't the food.
